Straight from Frankenstein's Castle

...with fine art and antiques from Gloucester, Rockport and other Cape Ann MA homes.

BUT please read on, there are other important things you should know, such as...

There was a pickup date ERROR in the auction description for this auction.

The correct pickup date is Saturday, June 1st, 2024, 10 am-3 pm

AND we will have a BIG YARD SALE on that day as well, so please read on!

Well there are 196 lots we're proud of in this auction! As you can see, we posted a little vignette of a few of them above. Some of those pics have direct links, some you'll have to hunt for in the auction (hey we had to hunt to find them in the first place:)

The matched pair of Daisy & Button uranium glass vases didn't REALLY come from Frankie's Castle, but they're pretty rare. No?

Our 2 cents on the other lots shown above.

We LOVE the Fitz Henry / Hugh Lane House table runner! It's titled Urban Renewal as we found out from Elena Sarni, author of Trailblazing Women Printmakers, who very generously shared her expertise with us on Folly Cove Designs. The runner posted above is NOT a juried FCD piece, but rather made by Sarah Elizabeth Holloran, who was a Folly Cove Designer. Is that complicated enough for you?!

If you're interested in Folly Cove Design history, you're going to want to read Elena's book. She is touring and giving lectures on the movement, we attended one at Hammond Castle and it was fascinating! Here's a link to her book on Amazon

But, if at all possible, we recommend you try to pick it up at The Bookstore of Gloucester on Main St. There just aren't enough great bookstores around these days, so let's try to keep the ones we have!

Next we have some beautiful strands of pearls with a wonderful luster. If you love pearls, 'nuff said there!

The 14k white gold Pave Ring is a showstopper with a center red stone surrounded by real (but admittedly small) diamonds.

In the center is a painting by, Eugene Quinn. It's one of two we have in the auction, and we love it. What do you think of it?

We also love the Theresa Bernstein print of two young men standing in front of the Hahba.

Bottom row left is a poster designed by Al Czerepak, written on it "For Ruth Czerepak" Mr. Czerpak's work was whimsical and this poster is super fun!

Bottom center is a stash of antique photos, they're all the rage with the kids these days!

And last but not least is a showcase FULL of antique/vintage smalls. We billed it as a re-seller lot for obvious reasons. (Showcase is NOT included)

Those are 9 lots out of 196 in the auction!

Click the red button to see the rest...

BUT If ONLY I could see the items I want to bid on! - You can. Cape Ann Auction offers inspection of auction items by appointment.

Here's how to preview in person.

  • Once the entire auction is posted online, make a list of the items you'd most like to see.

  • Text us at 978-395-7077 to make an appointment. The earlier you contact us, the better. Generally appointment availability runs from, Mon-Fri 11-3

  • Come in with your list, on the arranged date/time and we'll give you a private showing of the items you are interested in.

  • We cannot accommodate a browsing preview of everything in the auction, so please have your list with lot numbers.

  • If you can't arrange an appointment, but want to know more about any lot in the auction, we encourage you to ask your question in the comments section below. Please include the lot number and item description with your question.

Thanks Kathy, We didn't designate that as an official FCD piece, but rather explained in the description, that there was an affiliation, but it was not a juried FCD.

We've learned these are complicated!

Walt: FYI: URBAN REMOVAL BY SARAH ELIZABETH, SARAH ELIZABETH SHOP, NOT FCD.

SHOWS HOW IT LOOKED BEFORE THEY DID URBAN REMOVAL OF EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE FITA HUGH LANE HOUSE.
